Lot 2077
1882, $50 Gold Certificate. PCGS Currency Fine 15. . Fr-1194. . KL-699. This Fr. number is quite scarce, with less than two dozen pieces known in all grades. This one is about in the middle of the pack, and is a new discovery piece to the census as it has been off the market for a few decades. It is bright and appealing for the grade, with signs of crispness remaining in the paper. The back, as usual on this design, is slightly faded but no more so than is expected for the grade. It is a highly desirable Gold Certificate in all respects, and is likely to see spirited bidding before the hammer falls.
Estimated Value $2,000 - 2,500.
